Are you curious about Unschooling? Maybe you’re just starting your homeschooling journey and are exploring what approach you want to take. Perhaps you’ve hit roadblocks that are challenging you to look at alternatives. Or you might be unschooling already and want to find support and encouragement.

As part of a series of evening discussions for parents, MASH presents Life Learning: An Intro to Unschooling. This informal evening will feature veteran unschoolers sharing about their experiences of growing up/parenting with an unschooling approach and addressing your questions. This event is geared towards parents and older children.  And it’s FREE.

Please RSVP here so we can plan accordingly.

Brandon Air Cadets

For other air cadet units in Manitoba visit: Manitoba Air Cadet League Information

As the Commanding Officer of the local Air Cadet Squadron here in Brandon. In my 30 years experience with the Air Cadet Program I have seen some great results for home schooled children from the view point of an extracurricular activity as well as a social activity in addition to the added academic (Aviation), Citizenship, Leadership and physical fitness training. The Air Cadet Program offers its members access to summer camps in a variety of subject areas, in 2 week, 3 week and 6 week training. We offer access to a Glider pilot training scholarship, and a Private pilot training scholarship (7 week summer camp, scholarship prep conducted at the local unit). We also offer access to optional Marksmanship and music training (drum corps) here in Brandon. To join, youth must be 12 years old, and may participate in the program until their 19th birthday.

The Cadet program, whether Air Force, Army or Navy is free to join, uniforms are provided at no cost (small cost to maintain the uniform over the years), and no fees for training exercises. The is however a need for the cadets to be involved in fundraising activities. Drums and supplies for cadets to participate in the Drum corps will be provided. All appropriate Safety and Marksmanship Training, equipment and supplies will be provided at no cost as well.

All cadet training is conducted at the Brandon Armoury, 1116 Victoria Avenue, Brandon Manitoba.
